Agreeing to these terms
These terms apply when you use this website or hire Truegrade Owatonna Concrete for concrete work. By using the site, asking for an estimate or booking a job with us, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the site or book work with us.
Your written estimate or contract for a specific job may add terms of its own. If it conflicts with these terms, the signed estimate or contract controls for that job.
What we do
Truegrade Owatonna Concrete is a concrete contractor in Owatonna, MN, and we work in Owatonna and the cities around it. We pour and finish flatwork, which covers driveways, patios, sidewalks and garage floors. We also build steps, retaining walls, footings and foundations, do stamped and decorative work, and handle concrete cutting and foundation raising.
This website describes our services in general terms. It isn't an offer to do any job at any price, and it isn't engineering or design advice for your property. You can read about our crew on the About page and see the full list of what we do from the home page.
Estimates and pricing
We give free on-site estimates, because the price of concrete work depends on things we can only see in person. Those include the size of the area, how much old concrete has to come out, the condition of the subgrade, which is the ground the slab sits on, where water drains, access for the truck, and the finish you pick.
An estimate is good for the period written on it and covers only the work it lists. Changes you ask for after you accept it are priced separately.
Sometimes we find conditions an estimate couldn't account for, such as soft or wet ground, buried debris or old concrete thicker than expected. If that happens, we'll stop and talk with you before doing extra work, and any added cost will be agreed in writing before we go ahead.
Scheduling, weather and cancellations
We give you a planned date when you book, but concrete depends on the weather. We may move a pour for rain, freezing temperatures or extreme heat, because concrete placed in those conditions can end up weak or damaged, and we won't pour just to hold a date. If that happens, we'll tell you as soon as we know and set the next workable day.
If you need to reschedule or cancel, call us at (507) 599-0098 or reach us through the contact page as early as you can. Once materials are ordered or work has started, you may owe for materials and labor already committed, as your estimate or contract sets out.
Please give our crew clear access to the work area, and tell us about anything buried there that we can't see, like sprinkler lines, private wiring, septic lines or pet fence wire. We aren't responsible for damage to private lines or items we weren't told about.
Payment
Your estimate or contract states any deposit and when the rest is due. Unless it says otherwise, the balance is due when the work is finished.
If a payment isn't made when it's due, we may pause any remaining work and use the remedies the law allows to collect what's owed.
Our guarantee and what it doesn't cover
Our work is backed by our satisfaction guarantee. If something isn't right, call us and we'll come look at it, and where the problem comes from our workmanship we'll make it right. Any written warranty on your contract applies as written.
Concrete can crack even when it's done right, because it shrinks as it cures and moves with freeze and thaw. We cut control joints, which are grooves that give the slab a planned place to crack, so small hairline cracks, slight color differences and surface wear from weather aren't defects.
After the pour, the slab needs time to cure, which is the wait while it hardens and gains strength. We'll tell you when it's safe to walk and drive on it. The guarantee doesn't cover damage from use before then, from de-icing salt, from vehicles or equipment heavier than the slab was built for, from settling of ground we didn't prepare, from drainage changes made after we leave, or from work done by others.
Beyond our guarantee and any written warranty, this website and our services are provided without other warranties, express or implied, to the extent the law allows.
Limits on our liability
To the extent the law allows, Truegrade Owatonna Concrete isn't liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as the cost of parking elsewhere while a driveway cures. Our total liability for any claim about a job is limited to the amount you paid us for that job.
Information on this website is general and may change. We aren't liable for decisions made only from what's on the site without an estimate from us.
If we disagree
If you have a problem with our work or a bill, call us first. Most issues get settled with a visit and a conversation, and we'd rather fix something than argue about it.
If we can't settle it within a reasonable time, either of us may take the matter to the courts in the county where the work was done, including small claims court where the amount allows.
Which law applies
These terms, your use of this website and any work we do are governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms by posting a new version on this page. Changes apply to estimates and jobs booked after the update, and a signed contract keeps the terms that were in place when it was signed.
If you have a question about these terms, call (507) 599-0098 or send us a note through the contact page.
